I have been painting for about 20 years, mainly in acrylics but also in watercolour. Paintings are mainly of landscapes and wildlife occurring in this area, but also of scenes recorded when away to the coast or out in the dry country. My style ranges from realistic to realistic abstracts.
My paintings are displayed in a gallery situated on my property. It’s set in an area of natural bush (complete with resident wallabies) and surrounded by a native plant garden.
After exhibiting widely over past years I now prefer to concentrate on displaying in my own gallery. This takes away the need to compete in art shows and the demands of keeping up appearances in city galleries. I hope you enjoy the selection of works shown in the following gallery.
Small paintings are periodically done “plein air”, meaning they are done on site. This is important to ensure my eye is kept tuned in to the real colours and light seen outdoors. These small paintings are often used as the basis for larger studio work.
